It all began on my 40th birthday with a group of phenomenal women…
My name is Rocki Howard. I am the Founder and Chief Empowerment Officer of Grown Woman Life
I couldn’t wait to turn 40. Forty to me signified that I was grown. I had earned every stretch mark, grey hair, and wrinkle. More importantly, I had earned the right to be authentically, unapologetically me.
I celebrated my 40th birthday with a small group of incredible women. There was a limo, dinner, drinks, dancing and a Tiffany blue box made a special appearance. It was the perfect way to usher in the next phase of my journey.
I was the first of my crew to turn 40, and I wanted my friends to be as excited about their pending milestone as I was. I also wanted to thank these women for absolutely spoiling me, so I prepared specially cultivated gift bags to give them at dinner. This included what I hoped would be an inspirational list I penned for them called The Grown Ass Woman, Rules, Rights, and Responsibilities.
The list became the foundation of a special language between us. It built camaraderie, support, and accountability among this group of women. It was the gift that kept giving.
Over the years, when a woman shared they were having a milestone birthday, or I met a woman who needed a bit of encouragement, I shared The Grown Ass Woman, Rules, Rights, and Responsibilities. I looked at it as a way to share the “gift” with others. Each time I shared it, I was always met with the same response. Women were inspired, excited and wanted more…more content, more advice, and more connection to like-minded women.
As I approached 50, I had an “ah ha” moment.
There was an opportunity to fill a much needed gap to build a community for mature professional women who want to live a grown woman life.

Being a grown woman ain’t easy, and we aren’t here to paint a perfect picture of some rainbow and unicorn reality.
Our goal is to be the premier digital community for bold, brilliant, badass, mature professional women.
By provoking conversations, coaching your progress, and providing a bit of entertainment and inspiration, we will support your journey to be proud, purposeful, and unapologetically grown.
Ultimately, this is a dream 10 years in the making. Engaging and inspiring women has always been in my heart.
I am still adapting to life as a grown woman. I am extremely flawed and still struggle with some of the very principles I have created. I am hoping we can work towards our personalized definitions of success…together.
