Featuring Jay Graves

.In my recent chat with Power Dad Jay Graves, founder of Pathfinder Business Consultants, he emphasized the importance of diversity and inclusiveness in achieving organizational success. He highlighted the need for leaders to commit to promoting diversity, men supporting women in their careers and at home, women prioritizing their well-being and work-life balance, and creating a world where gender roles are not barriers to success through acceptance and empowerment. check out some of the incredible insights from my time with Jay.

"I found that diversity and inclusiveness were accelerating for corporate success, so I started working to help organizations connect, communicate, and work effectively to achieve organizational excellence."

"Leaders should recognize the importance of and make a serious commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion to support the well-being of individuals and achieve organizational success."

"Men can take steps to create policies that support women and challenge traditional gender roles. They should listen to women and make sure their needs are not ignored at work and home."

"Women should prioritize and schedule time for self-care, family, and personal growth. They should also actively seek a supportive community of like-minded individuals and allies."

"We need to confront gender roles and expectations and promote acceptance and understanding. We should build supportive communities and work to uplift and empower each other."

Here are five insights from my conversation with Jay to help you power your proud, purposeful, and unapologetic career and life.

Lesson 1: Prioritize Life Over Work

Rather than striving for a perfect balance between work and life, prioritize what matters most in your life. Set boundaries that align with your values and schedule time for what’s important. By doing so, you can create healthier work-life flows.

Lesson 2: Advocate for Yourself

It’s crucial to advocate for yourself, particularly in a professional setting. Know your worth, set boundaries, and don’t be afraid to speak up. If you don’t, you risk being taken advantage of and not reaching your full potential.

Lesson 3: Seek Out Community

Building a community of supportive individuals can have a significant impact on our personal and professional lives. We can gain knowledge, support, and motivation by surrounding ourselves with like-minded individuals. As grown women, we shouldn’t shy away from making connections and building our networks.

Lesson 4: Embrace Your Strengths

Instead of trying to fit into societal expectations, we should embrace our individual strengths and use them to our advantage. By doing so, we can break down barriers and push past obstacles in our personal and professional lives. Embrace your uniqueness, and don’t be afraid to stand out.

I hope you’ve gained a few valuable insights, remember, we are all capable of achieving great things with the right mindset and support system.

Until next time, go live boldly, showcase your brilliance and be a badass.
